The Honourable Johanne D’Auray
Educated at University of Ottawa (B.Admin., B.Com., LL.L.). Called to the Bar of Quebec 1983. Immediately prior to her appointment, Assistant Deputy Minister for the Central Agency Portfolio and special counsel for the Department of Finance. Lengthy career with Department of Justice as a litigator, Director of the Tax Litigation Section, Director of the Quebec Regional Office, and Assistant Deputy Attorney General for Tax Law Services Portfolio. Also served as a Deputy Commissioner of the Competition Bureau, first with the Fair Business Practices Branch and then with the Criminal Matters Branch. Prior to her appointment, was a member of the Tax Court of Canada Bench & Bar Committee and an observer at the Tax Court of Canada Rules Committee, governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation and presenter at national and international conferences on tax and competition law. Appointed judge of the Tax Court of Canada on October 28, 2010.
